An Untitled Poem
Like stick figures we march
day by day with blue ties
pushing against the storm
Like stick figures, we march
the walls too high to scale
the mire to thick to crawl
Like stick figures, we march
like sheep to the slaughter
we march single file
Like stick figures we march
morning till noon and night
Still falling short amongst our kin
Like stick figures we march
our buildings rooted
we file within
Like stick figures we march
through weather, and blindly
The shroud so thick
Like stick figures we march
Not one with a fire in his eyes
corrupted by comfort
Like stick figures we march
latent giants afraid of the sunrise
unaware that it takes only one
Like stick figures we march
rise now against this storm
stand up and fight
Like stick figures we march
10 by 10 eager and hungry
waiting no longer
Like stick figures we march
aggressive as caged tigers
blue ties move together
Like stick figures we march
take back what is ours
free ourselves of the blinders
